Library Mission & History
The mission of the Wellsville Public Library is to serve the residents of Wellsville and the surrounding area with resources and services that will enhance learning. The library was first established on January 7, 1944 and was housed in the community room off the back of the then Wellsville Bank. Then in 1953 the decision to purchase a restaurant that would become what is now the Wellsville Public Library. Volunteers renovated the building and the new library was opened August 1, 1953.
